General podiatry care

Toenail cutting callous and corn debriding

Biomechanical assessments

full lower limb assessment, treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal conditions. Abnormal movement patterns, muscle imbalances, joint dysfunction etc.

Diabetic Foot Assessments

Vascular studies using a Doppler ultrasound machine, Neurological assessments, and Diabetic foot care education.

Ingrown toenails

Treatment options include; Nail spicule removal, nail braces and Partial nail avulsion surgery. Nail cutting information provided to patient to prevent reoccurrence.

Foot care and footwear advice

Patients are shown ways to self-care for their feet. Footwear is assessed upon each visit and advice given to patients regarding suitable footwear

Medical grade footwear

We stock a range of Dr Comfort Shoes for patients to order and to try on in clinic. Features include extra depth, extra width to allow moderated foot deformity and all accommodate orthosis.

Custom made orthosis

Should patients require custom made orthosis we cast their feet in clinic and receive their orthosis from the lab usually within 2 weeks. Prefabricated Orthosis are also available.

Dry Needling

Acupuncture needles are inserted into myofascial trigger points to alter the way pain mediators and neurotransmitters function

Mobilisation

Manual therapy of the lower limb to assist correction of alignment and motion of the foot; this is often successful when orthotics and other treatment has failed to relieve pain &/or deformity.

Power tapeing / kinesiology taping / rock-taping

treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of musculoskeletal injuries.
